Mission
Organ Colossal’s mission is to build a community of musicians, artists, and audience members in the Capital Region of New York that is rooted in empathy, creative honesty, and vulnerability. To this end, we will bring musicians and artists together into collaborative spaces and present musical programming. Through concerts, public events, and musical projects, we will share ideas and connections with the hope that they spark further communal work.
Beliefs
We believe that a shared musical space is kinetic and powerful; that shared music is a gift that travels between listeners and performers, and which keeps traveling in all directions beyond the space and time of a performance
We believe that a shared experience, such as a musical space, leads to stronger communities - laying the groundwork for empathy, compassion, and communal action
We believe it’s our sacred duty to actively work towards just, anti-racist, diverse, and accessible spaces; and to constantly reexamine our relationship to white supremacy
We believe that everyone should have access to spaces where music and the arts happen
We believe that music can be of uncompromising quality and truth and be accessible to everyone
We believe in music’s ability to live beyond labels, genres, and classifications
Organ Colossal is based in Troy, NY and is our way of contributing to the communities that came before us.
